What Are The Methods for Facelift And Face Aesthetics?

There are several different methods used for face lift surgeries. The suitable method is preffered taking into account of the patient’s health status, smoking, age, gender, the severity of sagging of the face, the condition of the skin and the structure of the facial bones.First of all, the deformed areas of the person’s skin and the surgical technique are determined. The main technique for facelift surgery is to lift the sagging skin upwards and bring it back to its original position. For this reason, the technique and incision sites in face lift surgery vary according to the degree and locations of sagging.

1. Classical Face Lift

During classical facelift surgery, the incision starts from the front of the ear and proceeds into the scalp behind the ear. By entering from this area, the skin tissue is removed, the sagging skin, muscle and connective tissues under the skin, that is, the downwardly sagging connective tissues, are stretched upwards. Excess skin is removed and the procedure is terminated. In this way, the drooping of the cheeks, temples and chin is eliminated.

Apart from this, surgical intervention must be combined with other procedures. For example, if there is a decrease in adipose tissue, the missing parts of that area are completed with the adipose tissue itself or some chemicals. Botox, which is the most used today, can also be added to the process in order to prevent wrinkles caused by excessive movement of those muscles from time to time in facial rejuvenation.

2. Full Face Lift

Full face lift aesthetics is performed by combining it with a few extra different procedures as well as covering the classic face lift. These;

  • Blepharoplasty (Eyelid aesthetics)
  • Permanent or temporary eyebrow lifting
  • Fat injection to the face
  • Botox and fillers

These are the procedures performed in combination with the classical facelift procedure under the name of full face lift.

3. Medium Face Lift

During the mid-face lift procedure, the scar remains under the eye at the base of the eyelashes. With the incision made here, the middle part of the face, that is, the cheekbones, is pulled upwards. In this way, a more youthful and natural appearance can be achieved.

Which Aesthetic Surgery Can Be Combined With Face Lift Surgery?

Depending on the condition of the patient, face lift surgeries can be combined with other plastic operations such as botox, filling, blepharoplasty in order to obtain better results. In addition, there is no problem to undergo a facelift surgery combined with body aesthetic operations.

After Face Lift Surgery

After the operation, the face swells for about 1 week and subsides gradually at the end of the first week. Applying ice is recommended for the first few days to relieve swelling and edema more easily and quickly. At the end of the first month, the swelling of the face almost disappears.

As after every surgery, it is recommended not to smoke after facelift surgery, because smoking can adversely affect the healing of wounds.

In the first 2 months, the face should be protected agains direct exposure to the sun.

Bandages should be used very carefully to minimize the risk of subcutaneous bleeding after surgery. The surgeon decides the lenght of the bandages to stay, which is generally an average of 3 weeks.
