Mommy makeover is a combination of operations performed to improve the outlook of the women after pregnancy and to correct the resulting negative changes upon breasts, face and women’s body due to pregnancy and aging.
Pregnancy might leave some marks in the body after childbirth, due to the weight loss after the breast enlargement during pregnancy. Breasts might sag, also the stretching of the abdominal muscles during pregnancy followed by abdominal muscles shrinking after childbirth leads to sagging in the abdominal muscles and skin. What changes occur in the body after pregnancy and childbirth?
Changes occur during pregnancy remain even after childbirth. During pregnancy, the abdominal muscles open and extend to allow the baby to grow. Although the abdominal muscles recover quickly after pregnancy, they still can not return to their former state as they were before pregnancy. Even if the acquired weight during pregnancy is lost, the abdomen area will still look inflated due to the gap between the abdominal muscles.

Tummy tuck and liposuction

The abdomen and the regions that liposuction applied over must be wrapped by a tight corset after the operation. The patient must wear the corset for 6 weeks but corset can be taken off for a few hours during the day after the first 3 weeks.
Depending on the degree of sagging, there will be a scar in the lower abdomen area. This scar looks the form of a white thin line and it is few centimeters longer than the cesarean incision.
How is the operation performed?
The operation is done under general anesthesia and it takes about 2 hours depending on the breast situation.
For women who have a little sagging beside size loss in breasts, it is possible to obtain a tight breast by only placing implants. In this case, 3 centimeters long surgical incisions are made from the bottom of the breast to place the implant. But, for women who have excessive sagging besides size loss in breasts placing implant will not be enough, a breast lifting operation must be done in addition to the implant placement.
In case the breasts were huge and sagged, breast lifting and breast reduction surgeries should be done. The suitable method for the patient is decided by the patient and the doctor during the examinations.
The duration of stay in the hospital is 1 day after the operation, the placed drains are taken out by the doctor after 1 or 2 days after the operation depending on the situation.
Is it possible to have Mommy Makeover by mothers of all ages?
Having breast lifting, breast reduction, liposuction, and tummy tuck all together is a big and extremely serious operation.
