Vaginal Constriction (Tightening) Surgery in Turkey

One of the fastest developing options in cosmetic surgery is genital aesthetic surgery. There are many names to describe the surgeries performed. One of the most familiar terms is vaginoplasty, vaginal rejuvenation or tighteninging. Vaginoplasty or vaginal tightening is the name given to all the procedures performed to restore and rejuvenate the vagina, whose structure changes with age or birth.

Vaginal Tightening

Vaginoplasty is a procedure applied to tighten the muscles that make up the vagina and reshape the external genitalia. Surgery is planned according to the size and type of the problem. Not only will the outer lips be intervened, but also vaginal tightening can be added by intervening in the vagina muscles. The purpose of the application is to eliminate the deformed appearance of the female genital organ, to relieve the person in terms of hygiene and to give an anatomical and aesthetic appearance. It is also to give better strength or control to the muscles during sexual intercourse, which can provide greater satisfaction for the woman and her partner. This procedure is applied not only to correct deformities that may occur after birth or advanced age, but also to correct genetic vaginal deformations.

What is the vagina?

The vagina is a flexible tube-shaped structure with an average length of 9 cm, surrounded by muscles on the outside and covered with a mucous membrane inside. Above, it is closed by the uterus, called the uterus, and there is a small channel that opens to the uterus. Below, it continues with the inner lips and opens outwards.

It has three main functions:

  • 1. By engulfing the penis, it ensures that male secretions are carried to the uterus.
  • 2. It ensures the discharge of menstrual secretions.
  • 3. It expands during birth and mediates the baby’s exit from the womb.

Why Does the Vagina Loose?

While the main reason for vaginal looseness is multiple births, some women have structural looseness even without giving birth and the vaginal muscles are weak. In this case, some muscle-strengthening exercises may be beneficial. During normal delivery, the muscles in the vagina become very weak. The incisions made in the mouth of the vagina in order to ensure the comfortable passage of the baby during birth further reduce the muscle strength. As the number of births increases, it becomes more difficult for the vagina to regain its former form. If adequate tightening cannot be achieved with these exercises, vaginoplasty becomes necessary.

The vagina consists of a mucous membrane inside, under which there is a flexible connective tissue. Above this structure is a layer of smooth muscle. These muscles are elastic and play a role in the expansion and contraction of the vagina. In the outermost, there is a harder connective tissue and it covers all other layers. Both with age and with birth, these muscles can tear, loosen, and as a result lose their ability to fully grasp and flex. In the same way, the inner mucosa of the vagina can relax and expand.

Vaginal Tightening Operation

During vaginal tightening surgeries, the mucosa is opened and the muscles are tigthened, so that they become more functional. This process both creates contraction in the muscles and allows them to contract better. After this stage, the excess in the vaginal mucosa is removed and a new vaginal mucosa is formed. The healing of the vaginal mucosa is completed very quickly within a week. However, sexual intercourse is not allowed for up to three weeks for the muscles to fully heal. Two days after the operation, the person can easily return to his normal life.

Since self-absorbing sutures are used during the procedure, there is no need to remove stitches after the procedure.

Sexual Life After Vaginal Tightening Surgery

After the operation, sexual abstinence is required for 3 weeks. In this process, it is very important to pay maximum attention to sexual abstinence. Because having sexual intercourse that does not exceed 3 weeks may cause relaxation in the vagina. In addition, infection may develop as the incision site has not yet completed its healing. The suture may open and severe bleeding may occur. After the 6-week period is over, sexual intercourse is allowed.
