Vaginoplasty
Why Genital Aesthetics (Vaginoplasty) Operations Required?
Women may experience genital area deformations as a result of
- Pregnancy,
- Hormonal Changes
- Giving Births
- Weakening of the tissues
- Genetic Factors or relevant to aging
Deformation on outer lips both spoils the appearance and allows the inner lips to appear.
Inner lips may lengthen and change color over time. Wet lips may not only disturb women in terms of hygiene, but may also cause an aesthetically bad appearance. In addition, vaginal enlargement may occur with births and sexual activity. When all these are combined, both aesthetic and serious hygiene problems arise.
Before Vaginoplasty Operation
As before any other surgery, there are some steps that should be done before the operation such as physical examination with the surgeon, pre operation check up and anesthesia check up.
Physical examination with the surgeon is the most important step of the procedure. During the examination, the patient should share her expectations with the surgeon and the surgeon should inform the patient about the details of the procedure.
The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia. With the request of the patient, it is possible to perform vaginal tightening under local anesthesia in the operating room environment.
There are some tests and tests that should be done before the surgery. When the person hospitalized on the day of the operation, it is possible to perform the necessary tests and examinations before the operation. The duration of the operation varies depending on the size of the operation to be performed. It is generally a 2 hours operation.
Vaginoplasty Operation
In vaginoplasty operations, the vagina, inner lips and outer lips are evaluated together, and the problematic area is identified and then intervened. It is often necessary to intervene in these three areas. It is more convenient to perform the surgery from inside to outside in terms of successful operation and planning.
- 1. The vaginal mucosa is removed during vaginal constriction. The underlying muscles are repaired, excess mucosa is removed, and the ideal tightness and form of the vagina are created.
- 2. Then the excess on the inner lips is removed. The most important point here is that the removal of the tissue in the clitoris area is calculated very well. Too much removal causes the clitoris to fully open and, the clitoris can even touch to lingerie what can make the patient feel uncomfortable. A too slight removal may cause arousal problems because the tissue closes the clitoris.
- 3. Finally, the outer lips are intervened. The purpose here is to give the outer lips a full-volume form.
Thus, by covering both the inner lips and the vaginal opening, both aesthetic and hygienic conditions are provided. The outer lips usually deform due to volume loss. In order to repair this volume loss either the form is obtained using the person’s own fat, or with hyaluronic acid fillers.
Recovery Period After Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty operations are generally performed under general anesthesia.
The patient stays in the hospital on the night of surgery and discharges the next day after all the post-op checks.
Vaginoplasty is not a very painful operation contrary to common thought.
If vaginal tightening is performed during the surgery sexual intercourse should be avoided for 3 weeks. If vaginal tightening is not performed during the surgery sexual intercourse should be avoided for 2 weeks.
The patient is free to have a shower 2 days after the surgery.
It is recommended fort he patient to walk regularly to get rid of the edema as soon as possbile.
The patient can easily go back to work 3-5 days after the surgery depending on the job.
The sutures are dissolvable.
Why do Women want to have Genital Aesthetic Operations?
According to the scientific studies, the first reason for women to undergo a vaginoplasty operation isnatural birth. After gicing birth the vagine gets wider and becomes looser. This may adversely affectboth sexual and physicological life of women.
Women who do not like the look can undergo genital aesthetic surgery to fix the deformities. Genital aesthetic surgeries can change the look of the region and achieve an aesthetic look which helps women gain self confidence.
Vaginoplasty Prices
Vaginoplasty prices depend on;
- the number of the operations to be performed,
- the number of the regions to be performed,
- the type of the anesthesia,
and many more reasons.
Pelvic Floor (Kegel) Exercises
Pelvic Floor Exercises, also called Kegel exercises, are performed to strengthen the muscles around the vagina. The purpose of these exercises, which include contraction-relaxation movements in sufficient numbers and at appropriate intervals, can be listed as strengthening the pelvic muscles as well as increasing the endurance time of these muscles and ensuring their coordination.
How to Find Pelvic Muscle
The first thing to do before starting these exercises is to find where the pelvic floor muscle is. The point to be noted here is that the exercises are not performed with a full bladder, so the urine begins to be excreted from the body. In the first step, urination should be started and then the urine should be stopped. The muscle that is felt to be pulled back during this moment is the pelvic muscle that is desired to be found. After the muscles are found, the person is now ready to exercise. In other words, this process should not be followed while urinating under normal conditions, but only during the presence of the muscle.
Another way is a control method that can be achieved by placing a finger in the vagina and trying to feel the finger. If the same place is working while exercising, it will be understood that the right muscle is being worked.
How to Do Pelvic Floor Exercises?
First of all, these exercises are suitable to be done at any time of the day and these muscles should be felt before starting the exercise. Although the movements can be performed while lying, sitting or standing with the knees slightly apart, it is the most ideal choice if they are performed in a lying position. When the application is started, the muscles should be contracted as high as possible. After the muscles are kept tightened for 5 seconds, they should go into a relaxed state for 5 seconds. These two steps should be repeated 3-4 times. Afterwards, this time can be extended to 10 seconds and can be done 3-4 times a day. These exercises should be continued on a regular basis, as the strengthening of the muscles does not happen immediately and can take weeks. If pain is felt in the abdomen or waist region during the exercise, this is a sign that the movements are not done correctly or the right muscles are not found.
It is possible that patients who have given birth before may not be able to do this exercise easily because their muscles may be torn and loosened. However, it should be noted that they can easily do this exercise after vaginoplasty surgery.
